Fish Head With Bengal Gram(Channa Dal)

This is a traditional recipe of bengal. When son-in-law comes to laws house with his wife in the occasion of (jamai shashthi) this recipe also shown with other dishes. Fish head is more tasty than flesh.

Ingredients
- Fish head 500 grams big sizes
- Bengal gram pulse 200 grams
- Onion paste 2 tsp
- Garlic paste 1 tsp
- Ginger paste 2 tsp
- Chopped green chilli
- Tomato paste 1/2 cup
- Whole spice 1 tsp
- Cinnamon powder 1/2 tsp
- Cumin seeds 1 tsp
- Bay leaves 2-3
- Turmeric powder 2 tsp
- Red chilli powder 1 tsp
- Chopped fresh coriander
- Salt
- Oil as required
- Pure ghee 2 tbsp
- Grated coconut

Instructions
- First marinate the fish head with turmeric powder salt and lemon juice.
- Then deep fry the head until brown. Another side boil Channa dal with bay leaves.
- Now take a frying pan add oil then Cumin seeds onion paste, ginger, garlic paste chilli powder, turmeric powder and tomato paste. Stir continuously untill brown. Then add cooked dal and grated coconut Garam masala fish head and puree ghee.
- Garnish with fresh coriander leaves. Ready to serve with steam rice.
Notes
Fish is always good with mustard oil.
