Falafel are these crisp and yummy patties made of ground chickpeas, they are easy to put together and ideally served with Tahini or Hummus.

  • 2 cup of chickpeas - soaked overnight and ground to a paste.
  • 2 small onions finely chopped
  • 1 small bunch Coriander leaves - finely chopped
  • 1 tsp Ginger garlic paste
  • 1 tsp chilli powder
  • 1-2 tsp cumin powder
  • 2-3 tbsp cornflour
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil to deep fry


  • Mix all ingredients together except the oil, adjust the salt and chilli powder according to your taste.
  • Make small patties
  • Heat the oil in a wok, deep fry the patties on medium high heat till golden brown. Remove with a slotted spoon on absorbent paper
  • Serve hot with the sauce of your choice and fresh salad


This recipe freezes very well.
