Dark Chocolate Pie

A simple and tasty chocolate treat - Who will not love a healthy Dark Chocolate Pie with no added sugar and a healthy crust? The pie crust is baked using oats, whole wheat flour and finger millet flour.

Ingredients
  

  • Pie Crust: ½ cup oats Quakers quick cooking oats
  • 1/8 cup Whole Wheat flour
  • 1/8 cup finger millet ragi flour
  • 1/8 cup + 1 tbsp ice cold water
  • 1/8 cup or 25 grams chilled butter cut into cubes
  • Chocolate filling: 140 gms dark chocolate chips
  • ½ cup thick cream
  • ¼ cup finely chopped nuts Dry roasted Cashew nuts and Almonds

Instructions
 

  • Pie Crust - Pulse oats to a flour texture in a blender
  • Add finger millet (ragi) flour, whole wheat flour, butter, half the measure of cold water
  • Pulse once and add the remaining water and pulse twice
  • Transfer it to a bowl and bring the mixture together to make a ball. Don’t over knead it. Refrigerate for 20 mins
  • After 20 mins, Preheat oven @180c and roll the dough (1/4 inch thickness). Place it on a well greased pie pan. Prick small holes across and bake @180c for 20 mins
  • Chocolate filling - Bring cream to just one boil and turn off the flame
  • Mix the choco chips and stir until the chips are completely dissolved and add the nuts.
  • Allow it to cool until lukewarm temperature and is in pour-able consistency.
  • Setting the pie: Pour the chocolate filling in the baked pie and decorate according to your choice. Refrigerate it for at least 1 ½ hrs for the Chocolate filling to set. Slice and enjoy a yummy pie.

Notes
