Daal Fara/ Fara Prepared With Wheat Flour And Chana Dal, Evening Time Perfect Snacks

Fara is a traditional snack from Utter Pradesh, specially from Lucknow and Kanpur, which is made from wheat flour, by filling chana dal paste along with spices. some time made from rice flour and urad dal also.

Ingredients
- 2/1/2 cup Wheat flour
- 1/1/2 cup Soaked chana dal at least 4 hours
- 4 no Green chili chopped
- Salt
- 1 teaspoon Astofida
- 2 tbsp hopped onion
- 2 teaspoon Red chili powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon Garlic paste
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 teaspoon Chopped Ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala
- For Chutney:- 1 bunch Coriander leaves
- 4 no Green chili
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 2 no Garlic cloves
- 1 tbsp Dry mango powder or lemon juice

Instructions
- Knead the soft dough with 1 tsp salt and water. Make a coarse paste with Dal, salt, astofida, green chili and coriander leaves.
- Divide the dough into equal small portion and roll out the small poories, stuff with mixture and seal it. Boil 4 glass water with 1 tsp salt and 1 tsp oil. Cook the fara for 15 minutes in boiling water.
- Let them cool. Cut them into small pieces
- Now heat the oil in a wok or non-stick pan. Saute the cumin, green chili, ginger and onion. .Add cooked fara, dry mango powder, red chili powder 1/4 tsp salt and fry them till golden and crisp.
- Chutney- Blend all ingredients with 2 tbsp water. Serve hot with chutney

We dont fry Dal Fara so a nice idea next time when My MIL will make these, I will ask her to fry it.
