Chilly Bread

Chilly bread a quick all time favorite snack made within few minutes with some bread slices and easily available ingredients in your kitchen. Enjoy chilly bread with a hot cup of tea/coffee or make it to satisfy your taste buds.

  • 8 bread slices
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 capsicum diced
  • 1 carrot thinly sliced
  • 2 green chillies cut lengthwise
  • 1 tbsp finely chopped garlic
  • 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  • 4 tbsp tomato sauce
  • 2 tbsp green chilly sauce
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • 1/2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Salt
  • Oil for cooking


  • Cut the edges of the bread and then cut into square pieces and slightly roast them in non stick pan. Once done keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a non stick pan, add garlic saute for a minute.
  • Add onions saute for some time till they are light pink in colour then add carrots and green chillies. Saute for a minute.
  • Add capsicum let it cook for a minute. Do not over cook the capsicum it should be crunchy in taste.
  • Then add red chilly powder, black pepper, salt, vinegar, tomato sauce, green chilly sauce, soy sauce and mix everything well.
  • At last add the toasted bread pieces, mix gently so that the veggies gets mixed with the bread nicely.
  • You can add more tomato sauce and green chilly if required.
  • Garnish with some spring onion greens(optional) and Serve hot with a cup of tea. Enjoy!!
