Chickpea Salad

One of the most nutritious chickpea are rich in iron, protein. This Indian spiced salad is healthy and filling vegetarian lunch option.

  • 1 cup chickpea boiled
  • 1 large onion finely chopped
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • 2-3 green chillies finely chopped
  • 1 medium cucumber finely chopped deseeded
  • 1 boiled potato cut in pieces
  • Few coriander leaves finely chopped
  • 1.5 tablespoon chaat masala
  • Salt
  • 3-4 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Amul cheese cut in small pieces optional


  • Soak the chickpeas overnight.
  • Drain and wash the soaked chickpeas. Add fresh water and salt and pressure cook the chickpeas for 3-4 whistles till they are soft. Cool completely.
  • In a bowl add the chickpeas, chopped onions, tomatoes, green chillies, potatoes, coriander leaves, chaat masala, lemon juice and salt. Mix everything well. At last add cheese if you like. Serve!!


You can also add any veggies of your choice.
