Chicken and oats soup is popular chinese recipe. A delicious blend of oats and chicken make this soup rich in proteins. The addition of chicken and other spices add an Indian flavour to it, making it palatable. It is good for people who work out in the gym and makes for a healthy evening snack. Oats are rich in fibre and protein and are a good source of essential fatty acids, plant chemicals, amino acids and vitamin E. Chicken too is rich in protein and gives your body adequate energy after a workout.
1 cup boiled and shredded chicken breast
1 cup oats
2&1/2 cups Chicken stock
1 medium size onion
1 chopped spring onion
1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
Salt as required
1/3 teaspoon black pepper powder
1 teaspoon refined flour
1 tablespoon oil
Heat oil in pan, splutter cumin seeds when seeds stop crackling add Onion and saute onion in it for minute.
Add shredded chicken n saute for minute on medium flame.
Add salt n black pepper powder mix and cook for few seconds.
Add refined flour in 1/4 cup chicken stock (use stock in which we boiled chicken). Mix it well till flour dissolve in chicken stock. Add it in pan.
Add oats and remaining chicken stock in pan. Mix it well cover the lid and cook for 3 to 5minutes on low flame.
Add some spring onion in it. Mix it. Switch off the flame.
Chicken and oats soup is ready to eat. Serve this hot.
