Instructions

  • Mix together flour, yeast, sugar & salt in a mixing bowl
  • Heat 3/4 cup milk a little and add 2 tbsp butter to it so it melts
  • Add the warm milk and butter mixture to flour. Make sure the milk is just warm and not hot when you add it to the flour, otherwise it will kill the yeast
  • Mix it and start adding water little by little to make it soft & smooth dough. Knead it for a minimum of 7-8 minutes, till the dough is smooth and soft. It can be done either with an electric mixer or hands.
  • Leave the dough covered in a greased bowl for proofing till it doubles in size
  • Now take rest of the butter and mix garlic powder(or fresh chopped garlic) and dried herbs in the butter, add some salt as well if you are using unsalted butter like me
  • When the dough is double, take help of some flour and and puncture the dough, now divide the dough in equal 12 parts and make balls with each part of the dough
  • Now roll each ball in a long oval shape and spread butter and then some grated cheese and start rolling it like a Swiss roll, in the end pinch and seal the roll and do the same with all the dough balls except one
  • Make a round shape with the last dough ball and and spread butter and cheese and shape it in a ball again
  • Now arrange the rolls and the ball in shape of a flower in the baking pan. Mark a cut in each roll and sprinkle the left over cheese. Cover and let it rest for some 20-25 minutes, meanwhile switch in the oven for preheating at 200 degrees
  • After 20-25 minutes brush some milk on top of the dough rolls and put it in the oven for baking at 200 degrees for 25-30 minutes or till you see a golden crust on top
  • Take out the bread n brush with some butter and enjoy
