Butter Paneer

  • 1/2 Kg Cottage cheese
  • 1 Kg red tomatoes
  • 1 Large onion
  • 4 no. Green chilies
  • 1 Stick cinnamon
  • 4 Green cardamom
  • 2 Clove
  • Salt
  • 1 teaspoon or to taste Red chili powder
  • 2 teaspoon kasoori methi powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • 1 medium red bell pepper
  • 1 tablespoon Cashew nut paste you can use broken cashew nut too
  • 2 tablespoon Fresh cream
  • 1 teaspoon Desi Ghee
  • 50 gm Butter
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger Garlic paste
  • Ginger Julian and coriander leaves for garnish


  • Wash and roughly cut the tomatoes, In a heavy bottom pan put tomatoes, green chili, salt, cinnamon, onion,cardamom, cloves and 2 cup water ,cook it for 15 minutes. Blend the red capsicum and make a smooth puree in blender.
  • Blend the cooked tomato mixer and sieve it. Heat the ghee saute the ginger, garlic paste. Add tomato puree, garam masala powder, red chili powder and capsicum puree, cook with stirring to 5 minutes.
  • Now add cashew nut paste, kasoori methi powder cook for 5 minute then add paneer cubes again cook for 10 minute add 1 tbsp cream mix well, switch off the gas. Garnish with coriander, cream and ginger Julian


you can fry the cottage cheese pieces. For cashew nut paste, soak the cashew nut in warm water for 15 minutes then make a paste in blender. Use kashmiri red chili instead of red capsicum .
