  • Wash the brown Rice, dal and Ukda rice separately. Soak both the rice together and dal separately for 5 hours.
  • Grind Using as little water as possible the rice, bit coarsely. Add the oats too and grind well. Remove in a big bowl and keep aside.
  • Grind The Dal a bit finely. Add To the bowl. Add water to adjust the batter consistency. Keep undisturbed and covered overnight. Next morning add water and whisk well.
  • Grease the idli moulds and put in the batter. Steam for 12-15 minutes till done. Remove and let stand for 5 minutes before demolding. Serve with hot spicy sambhar and peanuts/ coconut chutney.
