About this Recipe

Gujrat state the land of fafdas , dhoklas , khandvis , handvo and various types of farsan. Traditionally handvo made with various types of pulses . But in this is have used curd and rawa .for giving a healthier twist I have added beetroot to it .

Ingredients & Quantity
  • 2 cup curd
  • 2 cup rawa
  • 1 capsicum finely chopped
  • 1 beetroot grated
  • 1 Tomato finely chopped
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 - 3 green chilli finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup coriander leaves finely chopped
  • Seasme seeds 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder 1 tsp
  • Salt as per taste
  • Eno salt as required
  • Oil for cooking
How to cook?
  1. In a big bowl take all ingredients expect eno and Seasme seeds. Mix all ingredients well and let it sit about 10 minutes. Now all ddosra some water to the mix. Mix consistency should be like idli batter . .
  2. Now take a kadai /pan , add 2 tsp oil ,add seasme seeds Take 2 tbsp of batter in a saprate bowl and mix 1 tsp eno to it . Mix it well and pour this batter on oil . Cover it . Cook it for 3 - 4 minutes.
  3. When bottom becomes golden brown in color , flip it and cook it from another side. Transfer it into a plate . Repeat this process with remaining batter. Beetroot handvo is ready . Serve with chutney .
