Some peoples have restrictions to consume rice that's why I have cooked the kheer with barely.Paush/makar sankranti refers both to a specific solar day in the Hindu festival in January every year. Dates jaggery also has a important role in this festival. So I have cooked the barely kheer with dates jaggery.

Instructions
- Soak the barely for 20 minutes so it will easy to cook.
- Add the finely chopped carrot and raisins. Again stir continuously.
- Then add the finely chopped carrot, grated coconut and raisins. Again stir the milk until cooked and thick. Add green cardamom powder. Switch off the flame or induction.
- Let the kheer normal temperature then add the syrup. Mix the syrup evenly.
- Serve the barely kheer with dates jaggery.
Recipe Notes
- If we soak the barely will get the good result.
- For making syrup add water and jaggery boil till concentrate or can buy dates jaggery syrup.
