Apple pie isa popular dessert in most of the western dinners, served warm with cream, chocolate sauce or custard!.
250 gm Plain flour
75 gm Sugar powder
125 gm Butter(chilled)
30 ml Cold water
1/4 tsp Salt
For Filing 2 apple chopped finely 50gm grained sugar 50gm digestive biscuit 50gm rasinis 50gm cashew 5gm cinnamon powder Lemon juice to taste
Seive the flour twice and keep it in large bowl
Add butter to the flour and with help of cutter,break into small pieces
Rubthe flour together to form bread crumb consistency
Add cold water and with help of finger tips Combine to form a dough
Rest dough covered for 30 mins in refrigerator
Add sugar, digestive biscuit crumb, rasinis, cashews, cinnamon powder and lemon juice and mix well
Take the rested dough and sheet it1/8inch thickness between 2 butter papers, line this to a 10" pie base and remove the excess from sides
Pour the apple filling and level it evenly
Take the rest pastry dough and sheet it to cover the top,seal the edges with milk wash
Arrange the pie base into pre heated oven at 200 degrees Celsius
Bake for 25 minutes or until light brown
Remove from the oven. Serve hot or cool completely.
