Ingredients
 

  • 3 - 4 Potato medium size
  • 1 tsp Cumin powder
  • 1 tsp Coriander Powder
  • 1 tsp Fennel saunf powder
  • ½ tsp Red chili powder
  • 1 tsp Dry Mango Powder
  • ¼ tsp Dry ginger powder
  • ½ tsp Chaat Masala
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Corn flour
  • 1 tbsp Oil for frying the tikkis
  • 1-2 tsp Salt or black salt or rock salt as required

For Chlole

  • 1 bowl Chickpeas amritsari chole or punjabi chole/chana
  • ½ cup Onions chopped
  • ¼ cup Coriander chopped
  • ½ cup Mint coriander chutney or coriander chutney
  • ½ cup Tamarind dates chutney
  • 1-2 tsp Chaat masala or as required
  • 1-2 tsp Red chili powder as required or as required, optional
  • 1-2 tsp Lemon Juice or as required, optional

Instructions
 

  • Boil or steam the potatoes first till they are cooked till soft
  • Peel the potatoes when they are still warm and then mash them.
  • Add all the spice powders listed above including salt.
  • Add the corn flour as well. Stir and mix well.
  • Make medium round sized patties from the potato mixture.
  • Shallow fry or pan fry till the round patties are crisp and browned.

  • Serve with chole/chickpea curry topped with both the mint-coriander chutney and tamarind-dates chutney.
