Aloo Matar Sabzi/ Potato Peas Curry

Aloo Matar sabzi is a soul satisfying and comfort food for the Indians. This can be had with pooris and chapatis as breakfast/brunch or as a main course for lunch and dinner. It is a common and popular dish in every Indian household. Very easy and simple to prepare and taste delicious .

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Potato
  • 1 cup Green Peas
  • 2 medium Onion
  • 1 inch Ginger
  • 1 large tomato
  • 4-5 Garlic
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 tbsp Oil
  • A pinch of Asafodita/Hing
  • 1/2 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp Chilly powder
  • 1/2 tsp Garam Masala powder
  • 8-10 cashewnut paste + 3-4 whole or broken
  • Salt
  • Water as required

Instructions
 

  • Made a paste of onion, garlic, ginger and tomato and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker add cumin seeds and let it crackle.
  • Add the paste and saute for 2-3 mins. Add a pinch of hing, chilly powder, turmeric powder and saute for a min.
  • Add the cashewnut paste along with the whole or broken cashewnuts. Season with salt, potatoes and fresh green peas, add some water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
  • Let the pressure release by itself add Garam masala powder, chopped coriander leaves, cook for about 2 mins and take off the heat.
