Summer Wedding Food Tips And Ideas 101

Spring is just around the corner. If you’re getting married this year, then it means that you have to think a bit more thoroughly about your wedding reception. Even though this will be your happiest day ever, organizing a wedding can sometimes be nerve-wracking. After you finished with the decor and the guest list, it’s time to think about the buffet and the bar. And the good thing is that you can go as crazy as you want in this department as there is a plethora of options to choose from. Take a look at some of the tips that only will make your wedding much more beautiful, but you will be able to save some money as well.
The barCocktails
The bar might be the most important thing to organize as plenty of your guests will be drinking their night away. If you want an excellent summer wedding, it would be good to think a bit outside of the box, and make your wedding a cocktail-only one. These are always rather interesting and can be quite tasty, so why focus on hackneyed glasses of champagne and whiskey? Find several cocktails that you want on your wedding party, print out the menu so that the guests could order them and voila.
Bar snacks
Even though you will have a buffet (which we will focus on a bit below), don’t forget the bar snacks. Drinking a lot and not eating might result in a very drunk night that can go out of control, so introduce some bar snacks to the game. You can go with whatever you want here, but the best option would be nuts, pretzels or dried fruit.
The buffetThe food decor
Food is equally important, yes, so you have to pay special attention to the way you decorate your buffet. It’s always very pretty to see a beautiful buffet that goes with the theme of the wedding. Now since your wedding is in the summertime, if you’ve chosen a very beautiful beach wedding venue where you will host your ceremony, make sure to decorate your buffet accordingly. The summer and beach themes are always very popular, and if you don’t have time to do this by yourself, you can always ask different catering companies for help.
Think of the prices beforehand
You probably have a certain budget that you don’t want to go over. In order to save some money here, it would be good to think about the prices of all the ingredients beforehand. If somebody else is making the food for you, such as a catering company, ask them if you could bring your own ingredients. There are certainly those that you can buy at a cheaper price, and even though it doesn’t sound so, you can definitely save a lot in the long run.
The dessertsHomemade
There’s nothing cuter than having a homemade wedding cake. Perhaps you’re not the right person for this job, and you shouldn’t be – the bride and the groom have other things to worry about. However, you can find a family member who’s good at baking cakes and ask them to help you out (or perhaps make a cake as a part of their wedding present to you). This is always better than buying cakes that might not be that tasty.
Popular desserts
Another way you could play this is by avoiding the cake altogether and feature some of the best and most popular desserts such as cupcakes, brownies, fruit tarts or cheesecake. You could also have the best of both worlds and have a cake and other desserts, but make sure not to overdo it. We don’t actually eat only sweets, do we?
Organizing the buffet and the bar is always much fun. It could be a bit daunting at first, but bear in mind that a good buffet and bar can make a huge difference. Hey, congratulations and good luck!
