“Mummaaaaaaa – I am hungry” and you rush to look for her in the Kitchen, as you always assume that she would be making something delicious for you while you were busy playing in the sun with your friends.
If asked, what is the most loving thing about your mum? I am sure the answer would be – “My mum cooks the best food in the world”. “Her Biryanis are out of the world”. And sometimes you might crib too – “She is always behind me to eat healthy food”, “She doesn’t allow me to eat junk food and she forces me to eat daal(lentil) and sabzi(curry) and hides my chips and chocolates.” But still I love her because she cooks for me with love. So this is the “Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki” (Story of every household)
When you go for higher studies or are going to stay out of home for few days or are going to stay in a hostel what is that MAIN concern which your mum will have – Eat Properly, Eat on time. Your Luggage will have dabbas filled with savouries, sweets and the quintessential all-purpose nuclear-holocaust-surviving PICKLE which your mum has prepared and kept it secretly as she feels you will miss her.
And when you come back the whole house is getting ready because –you are coming after so many days (eons for your mother), there is no place on the dining table as your mum has been preparing all your favourites for days in the lead up to your arrival – Gulab jamun, Chikki, Namak Para, Chutneys, Mathri, Puran Poli, Gujiya and what not. There is no dessert in the world which can beat your mum’s kheer or Gajar ka halwa.
And what is that first statement that mums say when u come back? “Kitna dubla hogaya hai” (You have become so thin!) “Kuch Khati nahi hogi time pe!!!” (Surely, you haven’t been eating on time!)
So MOM and FOOD are inseparable. MOMs cook the best and Plattershare wishes every mom on this earth “A Very Happy Mothers Day” – MOM!! You are the best.
