Don’t  You know Me ! …       cool

Hmm..OK……

For Those, who have forgotten me , Its time to rethink and bring back us – lost traditional Let me help you to Rediscover my values , benefits and about how easily I can be part of your daily lives like your ancestors did.

Who are we  (Millets) :  We are the groups of cereals other than wheat, rice, maize & barley. We  are mostly tiny in size, round in shape & ready for usage as it is.

Archaeologists say that my friend foxtail millet was so old that no wild plant of the species is known to exist today.

Do you know that We are much conscious about our Environment  too !

Yeah , Unlike rice and wheat we require many inputs in terms of soil fertility and water,

We grow well in dry regions as rainfed crops.

We  can be grown on low fertility soils.

We do not demand chemical fertilisers . In fact, under dry land conditions, we  thrive  better in the absence of chemical fertilizers. So We are natural , organic and environment friendly .

We , the millets are pest free crops and we are climate change compliant crops.
Poor farmers especially in dryland India are the one who cultivate us

By making us (millets)  part of your daily lives , you will be encouraging poor farmers in dryland areas to cultivate crops that are best suited for those regions.

This is a step towards sustainable cropping practices where by introducing diversity in our diets, we respect the biodiversity in nature rather than forcefully changing cropping patterns to grow wheat and rice everywhere.

And the final word for you is

“ Do not discard old traditional food like us just because we are old! “
