Here Are Some Vegan Food Platter Ideas For Your Next Party - Plattershare - Recipes, food stories and food lovers

Becoming a vegan is all about eating fresh, whole foods. That being said, a vegan snack board is going to be a piece of cake. If that hit you the wrong way, there are plenty of recipes for vegan cakes. You can get to that later. For now, you’re  to discover more about putting together a scrumptious and very colorful vegan snack board or platter.

Don’t forget that there are some delicious vegan cheeses out there. And, need I say anything besides ‘hummus?’ Fresh vegetables and various types of hummus could complete a vegan food platter any day of the week. And it’s not just vegetables you can dip in hummus. Think in terms of scrumptious crackers, too.

You do want to keep that platter colorful. That works out great for parties, making the food more appealing. The easiest way to do that is to have plenty of vegetables on the platter. That is easy for vegans, right?

Fruits and nuts are also a mainstay for vegan platters. You can even incorporate dried fruits into the mix. In fact, you can create your own mixes. One thing you want to do is provide quite a few options. You can easily do that with one giant platter. But it doesn’t hurt to make two platters, if you want.

So far, you know to include lots of color and lots of options. You even know about some of those options. What else is important as you come up with the next vegan platter for your party? Think of the salty vs sweet combo, which by the way, can be easily represented by fruits and nuts.

Fruits and nuts are certainly go-to foods for vegans, and there are so many different great combinations. In fact, let’s talk about some of the individual foods that you might want to put on that platter. Have you heard of candied ginger? That is just one of the delicious options you have. Rice crackers and red pepper slices are two other great choices.

What else can you add to that platter? Red pepper jelly is also a nice option, and then there are the roasted cashews. What about grapes and dried apricots? You may or may not like all of the suggestions, but remember your guests are going to have different tastes.

The assorted hummus dip theme wouldn’t be a bad idea at all, but you certainly have more options than that. Naturally, it’s not just about what to include but how to arrange the platter. You certainly want everything to look decorative. That’s where all of that color comes into play.

The more you know about your options, the more diverse the platter will be. Don’t leave out the vegan cheeses. Think in terms of six major food groups. Think crackers, dips, fruits, vegetables, nuts and cheeses. Do plan out the platter before you start buying everything. You want to be sure you have enough of each food, and at the same time, you don’t want to waste money.

You don’t have to include everything on the platter. You can create a more simple platter with everyone’s favorites if you like. Or you can really get down to it and make a large platter with about 30-50 different items. That should get you thinking about how large the food platter can be.

This platter doesn’t have to be mobile. It can be sitting as a centre piece on a large table with all the food on display. The platter or platters can represent all the food that is available for everyone to eat. And they are going to love the choices that you provide.

Start making a list of what all you want to put on that vegan platter. Think of what you might want to add that can be homemade. The nuts, veggies and foods of that nature will be simple and easy. The dips can be easy, too, but there are some great recipes. Either way, the finger food strategy is the best way to go with vegan platters. You will be happy with the food platter you create, and your guests will be, too.
