Finding fruit and vegetable diet recipes is not easy, and the majority of recipes out there are for dishes that are geared towards unhealthy, greasy food. It is discouraging that many people do not realize their diet and lifestyle are the cause for a host of health issues such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, even cancer. Studies have shown there is a very strong correlation between the increased risk of various cancers and consuming too much food containing carcinogens. Many of the food sold in grocery stores are prepackaged and processed, containing too much preservatives, concentrates, coloring agents, and other unnatural substance. Therefore it will help if you have fruit and vegetable diet recipes on hand so you can easily prepare them without wasting too much time.

Fruit and Vegetable Diet Recipes Benefits:

The benefits of fruit and vegetable diet are enormous, among them:

  • Lower your cholesterol
  • Lower your blood sugar – perfect for diabetes sufferers
  • Reduce the risk of cardio vascular diseases such as heart attack
  • Reduce the intake of carcinogens which can cause cancer
  • Reduce or eliminate constipation

You have a variety of fruits and raw vegetables you can eat, but you can also reap the benefits from cooked vegetables as well. I will list the easiest ways to prepare dishes which can be expanded into different other dishes to suit your taste.

Steamed Vegetables

Steamed vegetables are easy to prepare and still contain almost all the benefits of raw vegetables. What you need is a steamer which is very easy to get, or you can also buy rice cooker which often offers a steamer as well and they are quite cheap. If you don’t have either one and don’t want to buy any, you still can use your pot, just make sure you have a tight fitting lid.

Vegetables

You can have one kind of steamed vegetables, or a combination of several. I suggest to experiment and play around with the combination to find something that you and your family really enjoy.

Directions

  1. Wash and chop your vegetables.
  2. Put water in steamer according to direction (about half inch).
  3. Put your vegetables and cover.
  4. Bring to a boil then steam for 10 minutes more, or less if you like them a little crunchy.

And you are done! You can add some light seasoning such as lemon juice, butter, pepper, olive oil, basil, or thyme. You can easily find these from your grocery store.

Stir Fry

You still can have nutritious stir fry meal if you cook them lightly and use healthy oil. This is my favorite fruit and vegetable diet recipes. I personally use olive oil or canola oil, they are the best in taste in my opinion and many experts believe the healthiest. Mix up your vegetables and experiment with it to find your favorite combination. Here are a few examples to start you off:

  1. A bag of frozen stir fry vegetables of any kind
  2. 1 tbsp olive oil
  3. 1 cup sweet and sour sauce
  4. Heat oil in frying pan
  5. Stir fry the vegetables until crisp, about 10 minutes
  6. Add the sweet and sour sauce and cook 5 minutes more

It is that easy and that tasty. Once you are used to this, you can buy your own vegetable of choice from the produce department and experiment with it. You can also try the stir fry sauce, or the teriyaki sauce. You see, this fruit and vegetable diet recipes is so easy and tasty.

Salad

This is the healthiest way of eating fruits and vegetables. They still contain all the vitamins and minerals that are normally reduced due to cooking. Below are a few examples of my favorite salads that you may want to try.

  • 1 cup red grapes
  • 1 cup green grapes
  • Half cantaloupe or melon, chopped
  • 1 banana, sliced thin

Mixed everything in a bowl and add a dash of lemon juice, and voila! You have your delicious fruit salad. Other fruits you will love and enjoy include: kiwi, pear, orange, blueberries, strawberries, pineapples. Remember, you must wash your fruits first, even the ones with skin such as oranges.

Fruit and vegetable diet recipes are a matter of personal touch and experiment. As long as you have the ingredients, all you have to do is to mix them up and prepare them according to your taste. You will reap the benefits of eating healthy foods without the carb and carcinogens that can endanger your health. Just try my fruit and vegetable diet recipes and have a great diet experience.
