A personalized invite sent by Plattershare got me interested as the event was ‘Margarita and Margherita Party’ that included a brown bag session too with interesting food enthusiasts, fellow bloggers, review writers.
Initially had little apprehensions – will I fit in with the other younger invitees, but I was glad I attended as I felt 20 years younger at the end of it. Thanks to Kirti (co-founder of Plattershare) who encouraged me to attend.
The venue was at a pub called Gorilla Barfare – a newly re-opened pub/sports bar in Koramangala (formerly operating as Jimmy’s).
The warm and cozy ambience makes it a go-to place to hang out with friends, the logo of a cool-looking gorilla is all over the place from the crockeries, walls, spoons holders, washroom door, and paintings of gorilla is different avatars adorn the walls.
The pub doubles up as a sports bar to enjoy live sports, the large television plays peppy numbers to set the mood. A narrow flight of stairs leads you to two more levels, on the first floor there is a foosball and pool table to play while sipping away your drink. The second floor is open terraced with a small bar. Do not miss the words painted on each stair as you go up, I simply loved it. See picture below.
About the event –
First it started with the refreshing, very summery margaritas using fresh fruits watermelon, strawberry and cucumber. They were mixed and shown by the pub’s mixologist and the bubbly blogger Saswati Behera. This was then passed around for tasting. Later two types of mojitos (virjin and classic) were explained and prepared for the participants of the event.
Sai Priya food blogger and food stylist @My Cooking Canvas brought a new twist to the pizza (Fruit Pizza) with toppings of Nutella, banana, strawberry, mint. Oh boy, was this good? It was delicious!
Momos, nachos with beans and salsa, French fries, pizzas, and drinks were generously making the rounds during the entire event by the very courteous staffs at Gorilla Barfare.
Now to the part why we all gathered here. Plattershare as we all know is an online platform for food lovers, where users can showcase their recipes, promote their food business, write about food, and interact with other foodies. It has gradually grown and has great plans for growing and scaling up. The co-founders Kirti and Ankush discussed about Plattershare’s road map for 2018 and their recent tie up with BigBasket to benefit food bloggers and homechefs to pursue their passion.
