-    ¼  cup split yellow gram

-    ¼ cup finely chopped onions

-    Salt according to taste

How to Cook? 

  1. Mix the chopped tomatoes and split yellow gram along with ½ cups of water in pressure cooker and cook for three whistles.
  2. Wait for few minutes for the steam to escape before opening the lid of the cooker. Then let it cool down slightly and blend in a mixture till it gets a smooth texture.
  3. Now, put one teaspoon of butter in non-stick pan and let it heat for few seconds.
  4. After that, add the chopped onion in the pan and cook it on a medium temperature for one minute.
  5. Now, add the pre-prepared mixture of tomatoes and yellow gram along with ½ cup of water in the pan. Then add specified amount of sugar and sprinkle some salt according to your taste.

 How to Cook? 

  1. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat, add onion and garlic and stir it until translucent.
  2. Remove the pan from heat; add chopped tomatoes into the mixture. Stir it well together until well combined.
  3. Then add milk and thyme into the pan and return it to heat for bringing it to boiling point.
  4. Do remember to stir the soup while cooking to be sure nothing is sticking to the surface of the pan.
  5. After simmering it on medium heat for 15 minutes, remove it from the heat and add cheese a handful at a time and keep on stirring it until cheese gets fully melted and gets blended into the soup.
  6. Season it with salt and black pepper and serve topped with additional grated cheddar.
