Donburi Food Festival – Japanese Culinary Secrets Tucked In A Bowl

Chennai, 10th September, 2016: Yakiniku presents for the first time, an authentic, one of a kind, exclusive Donburi Food Festival from 11th to 20th November, 2016.
Big is good. Big is satisfying. Big is an outsized bowl filled with clumps of rice, topped over the brim with meat/seafood/vegetable, all glistening under a generous splash of sauce. At Yakiniku week-long Donburi festival, which begins on 11th November, offers a window of opportunity to try your sticks out on a type of meal that displaces all reigning Indian notions about Japanese food: that it’s mostly about bite-sized sushi, that it weighs in on the side of undercooked food (though, Sashimi Donburi is an option), and that the achingly beautiful cuisine doesn’t make place for fast food.
One of the most unique points about Yakiniku is our native Chef Shohei Nakajima belongs to Tokyo and has learnt the secrets of Japanese cuisine from his forefathers. He brings to us the taste of his native cuisine, especially comfort food mostly meant for dinners with family members.
Donburi means rice bowl. It’s a simple dish where fish, chicken, vegetables and other ingredients are simmered together and served over rice. Chef Shohei and his team have come up with what seems like the simpler side of Japanese food, an easy initiation for anyone who’s just starting out on the cuisine.
Mr. Madhav Sehgal, General Manager, Hyatt Regency Chennai says, “We at Hyatt Regency Chennai make sure each festival and celebration hosted here is authentic, genuine and carved to perfection. Special menu, carefully designed décor and a caring team speak of our uniqueness. We have entered our 5th Year and Hyatt Regency Chennai remains your one and only destination for energizing experiences.”
The Japanese usually vary Donburi ingredients, depending on the season; so, YAKINIKU appropriately offers Vegetable and Prawn tempura on rice (Tendon), Sauce katsu don (Chicken katsu, cabbage on rice), Maguro zuke don and Salmon don.
